Mainstation Münster Eastside | Münster | 2015
The high building react in their sense of scale in both the height and the length of the building on the environment. As a connecting element of the two buildings is a 2-story arcade is inserted, which connects the two people together and unites underpasses. In the 2-storey base, which extends over the entire plot length, the audience intensive uses, such as shops and access to the large-scale retail are assigned in the basement on the ground floor the two people underpasses. The two high buildings are each provided as a closed block for hotel use and student housing.
The large-scale retail trade in the basement is optimally exploited. 3 large customer lifts make the connection between parking deck – her basement – EC. Delivery is from the north side (street Bremer Platz). The building services for this area is integrated in the building on the 1st floor. The 3-star hotel with its 175 rooms has its entrance from the street Bremer. By corner location the hotel is easily perceptible. The reception is located on the 2nd floor. Here are – around the green inner courtyard with exterior views – restaurant and conference areas. A terrace on the street Bremer are views of the leafy Bremer Platz and the listed building of the Montessori school. Via the 1st floor, the hotel is also connected to the parking garage. The Student Housing has 183 rooms spread over 3 floors. Access is via the arcade on the ground floor. Another access is from the parking deck possible.
The space wall to Bremer place is determined by the hotel building, student accommodation and the Arcade
These 3 components go into a symbiosis, where the arcade addressed as an architectural element in a sublime way the station function and both buildings together. At the same time it represents a prestigious entrance gesture – without the main entrance to take the significance. As a hint quote has been taken over by canopy.
As a facade material veneer has been chosen, continuing the ensemble effect of the environment. The higher by one storey building of the hotel – compared to the Student Housing – has been offset by the execution of a color and material moderate “bill Season”. At the same time the connection is sought to the hipped roof of the south and adjacent housing found. In the courtyards bright plaster surfaces are executed.
