“Living in Florence of the north” With the construction of the new dormitory in Dresden Neustadt (Antonstadt), a post-war urban development gap at the Pferdekopfbrunnen on Holzhofgasse will be closed with a five-storey perimeter block development. The cubature picks up on the existing urban alignment and rhythmizes the buildings by a horizontal Bossenanmutung in the base area and a vertical through French windows with low parapet height. Through a plastic Fensterfaschenausbildung the facade receives a restrained liveliness. Behind the facades are 200 fully furnished modern student apartments, some with gallery level in the attic area. A magnificent view from the rooftop terrace makes the feeling of Florence in the north of every season come alive.
