The town planning ensemble on the am Nikolai-Fleet was established after the war in connection with the removal of the Willy-Brandt-Straße. Besides, a block edge originated to the street with often only single-storey cultivation to the canal. The cultivation typical for place on the edge of the canals developed back. Hence, a property-covering cultivation concept was developed, with thee to restore the cultivation to the Fleetkante and the original town-spatial quality. The design follows in his town planning arrangement, as well as in his facade creation and materiality the principle of the reduction the essentials. Besides, materials are used like view concrete, wood, steel, glass and travertine to a uniform system after. The surfaces harmonise by her natural material colouring with each other. The single architecture elements of the facades are held consciously simple. Their addition proves in each case a facade picture in which the construction bodies and architectural special elements, as for example entrance and cantilever clearly stand out – in which they submit, also to a harmonious general view.
